Everything you need to know about chillies and more… brought to you by Nando’s

four-chillisWith a colourful history dating back to around 7000 BC, the chilli pepper (aka capsicum plant) originates from South America where it grows wild. It however took the Portuguese to make it a hot topic.

The Nando’s chilli however is home grown and is known as the Birds-Eye Chilli (called Pili-Pili by the local Swahili’s). The chilli became a staple source of flavour for dishes created by Portuguese explorers in South Africa. The Nando’s Peri-Peri recipe has a long family history and is the source of the deliciously tasty and healthy offering now served across the world by Nando’s.

For every 100g of chilli pepper there is 40 calories and only 0.2g fat content. But it is rich in Vitamin A and C.

This spicy little number is addictive and can be found at a Nando’s near you!
