The talcum-powder sands, gentle back and forth motion of the Indian Ocean, lined by swaying palms and thatch roofs of a Mediterranean-styled village – your imagination is taken for a ride as one enters the territory of the romantic Le Touessrok.
The open aired lobby, one of the ‘Leading Hotels of the World’ is simply breathtaking. At night, this lobby is transformed with its light filled atmosphere. The mood for your experience is created immediately. I was booked into the Frangipani Suite on Frangipani Island, a very contemporary designed suite. As I explored much later I found that one could opt for a secluded Three Bedroom Villa with private garden, infinity-edge pool and panoramic ocean vistas that is ideal for families.
Known to be one of ‘The Most Romantic Hotels’ this jewel of Sun Resorts certainly left an impression from the first day of my stay. Le Touessrok is situated on a cluster of tiny islands that lie like a string of pearls floating on a jewelled blue sea. Here guests are spread out between no less than 5 secluded beaches and coves.
Dining at Le Touessrok
A symphony of exotic tastes heighten your senses. You are spoilt for choice as you browse the menu’s that demand you try at least one signature dish of each of the dining venues.
A three level venue sparked my attention. Our friendly waiter explained to us that of the three levels one can experience Mauritian, Indian, Middle Eastern, Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Spanish, French and Italian cuisine. I immediately had suspected that there was a Feng Shui influence in the make up of the venue and I was right as the positioning of every element of the restaurant had exuded positive energy.
Located in the heart of the Frangipani Island where my room was situated, this restaurant situated on the beachside overlooked the Trou d’Eau Douce Bay. The cuisine is lunch style option with serving portions being very generous. From wraps, sandwiches and sushi, a definitive feel of Mauritius is an experience to savour!
