Imraan Vagar quits Eastern Mosaic

imraan vagarThe new-look Eastern Mosaic has been on air since 2000, during which time it has developed a steadily growing and loyal audience.  It is therefore with regret and many wonderful memories that the show bids farewell to its principle anchor, Imraan Vagar.

Imraan has announced that he will be leaving the popular SABC 2 lifestyle show at the end of July to commence work on his own TV series which will be launched in 2014. He has, however, agreed to stay on as the show’s creative director and mentor to the new generation of Eastern Mosaic presenters that are being groomed to take over the reins of the show – along with veteran presenters Candice Moodley, Jailoshini Naidoo, Kajal Bagwandeen and Suchitra Pillai.

Since its inception onto South African screens on SABC 2, Eastern Mosaic by Red Carpet Productions has brought viewers entertaining and niche Indian lifestyle viewing of everything that is described as Indian and stepping up the bar on quality content for past 12 years.  Under the direction of producers, Saira Essa and Mark Corlett and their behind the scenes team, the magic of Eastern Mosaic and everything Indian lifestyle comes alive.

Eastern Mosaic commissioned by Red Carpet Productions has innovated its content over the years bringing South African viewers a taste of everything that is associated with the Indian diaspora. And the visionaries, Saira Essa, Mark Corlett and Imraan Vagar have continuously kept their ears close to their viewerships opinions, suggestions and constructive criticism.

The Indian lifestyle show, Eastern Mosaic has consistently added value to their shows by listening to their viewers and quickly making changes that brought variety in terms of North and South Indian content to SABC2 at 10H30AM every Sunday!
