SA Indian troupe off to Germany

Germany1South Africans of Indian origin, Shri Karthigasen Pillay & Smt. Verushka Pather have been invited and will be performing in Germany this October, under the auspices of internationally acclaimed Bhakti Marga Foundation and the leadership of Swami Vishwananda.

The troupe of South African Indian artists will also be visiting the renowned University of Music and Performing Arts, Hochschule fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main, HfMDK in Frankfurt. They will be presenting a solo Bharata Natyam recital on one day and a classical music program on another day of the much applauded festival hosted in Frankfurt once a year. They depart on 10th Oct and arrive back on 15th Oct.

The travelling troupe of Karthigasen Pillay, Verushka Pather, Kumaren Govender, Vanessa Karthigasen Pillay and Kirthan Pillay, have committed their time completely to the teaching, performing, development and research on classical arts in South Africa.

It is a great opportunity for us as artists to join the international arena and present our work. This is a sustainable and empowering project to share our talents and integrity to the arts in Germany and now bring with us the expertise and experience of art and Culture of another country to assist and support our current thriving cultural activities. This project brings great respect and honour to our City of Durban and South Africa.

Shri Karthigasen Pillay is the senior disciple of the world renowned Shri TN Seshagopalan from Chennai India. He is the leading Carnatic Vocalist in South Africa today, for his vast and integral contribution to the sustenance of the classical music genre. He is known for his devotion and excellence when presenting his great art. Karthigasen Pillay has committed himself to serving and promoting our rich cultural heritage through his music and serving God.

verushka patherSmt. Verushka Pather, a devoted Bharata Natyam dancer,  is a senior disciple of Gurus, VP & Shanta Dhananjayan of Chennai, India. She has committed herself  to the service of the arts in South Africa and globally. She is known for her shradha, devotion when dancing and transports audiences to realm of bliss through her devotion to God.

Verushka along with Karthigasen are combining their talents, knowledge, devotion and love for the arts to share with communities to appreciate, understand and also share their connection with divinity.
