We can ALL be sugar free in our lifetime! Diabetes, known as the silent killer, will shorten your life on average by 12 years. The risk of heart disease and stroke increases when you are diabetic. Today, you can decide to change to a healthier way of living with this book that is geared to help you on your journey.

In this book series “You can be sugar free,” motivational speaker, yoga teacher and writer Kanchana Moodliar and homeopath, Dr Colette Kell (M.Tech.Hom) help people see how easy it is to make small regular changes that can help to prevent diabetes in the long run. This is also the first targeted series of books that takes race, diet, progress, lifestyle and culture into consideration.

The first book called “You can be sugar free – Indians vs Diabetes” aims to help Indian people prevent the onset of the disease that has made them the winners of the world diabetes trophy! This is not something we can be proud off and we need to start looking at ourselves today so we don’t allow our children to go down this dangerous path.

The Indian diet and lifestyle is causing us more harm than good. We have the power and intelligence to reclaim our health today. We just need to know how.

This book will challenge your current habits and help you make the necessary changes.

The book launched to the media and public 25 September in Durban at the Suncoast Hotel and Towers, where Masterchef 2012 Deena Naidoo will be in action with the 2 authors to showcase how healthy vegetarian meals can still be delicious. After all, no Indian is going to eat something that tastes bad. It’s just not who we are.

There will be 8 workshops held across SA where people can buy the book, interact with the authors and learn more about getting healthy. There will be many topics from the book that will be covered like de-stressing techniques, diet, yoga and the do’s and don’ts for pre-diabetics and type 2 diabetes sufferers.

The book retails for R150 and includes a pull out meal planner that goes onto your fridge so you can start getting into the low GI style of eating without much guess work. It also introduces the reader to yoga and various relaxation techniques.

If you are ready to beat diabetes and are serious about your own and your family’s health, then you need to get to these workshops and get the book.
