Sunday Times Eastern Bridal Fair

easternbridalfair2014After 15 years of being in the forefront of wedding exhibitions in South Africa, this year the SUNDAY TIMES EASTERN BRIDAL FAIR is taking it up a notch with exciting new changes and a host of international celebrities gracing the event.

The Sunday Times Eastern Bridal Fair is a trade show that has been held annually for the past 14 years in Durban, South Africa. The 15th Annual event will be held from 05 to 07 September 2014 at the Durban Exhibition Centre,Walnut Rd, Durban.  The average attendance of patrons has been about 10,000 persons. There are 100 exhibitors at the show.


Since its inception in 1999, the Eastern Bridal Fair has become one of the most sought after events on Durban’s social calendar.

It boasts more than 10 000 visitors every year, for the past 13 years with an average of 1 100 people per fashion show and over 100 exhibitors.

The world class fashion show has become one of the most popular events in Durban and is considered to be of the highest international standards in the fashion fraternity.

For the past five years India’s top fashion designers have showcased their collection at the SUNDAY TIMES EASTERN BRIDAL FAIR. These included the likes of Vikram Phadnis, Bennu Sehegal, Payal Singhall and Swapnil Shinde. Child actor Darsheel Safary of the worldwide record breaking movie “Taare Zameen Par” also featured at the fair, among many other Indian television stars and local celebrities.

Annually, about 8 000 copies of a special full colour, glossy EASTERN BRIDE MAGAZINE is published and a goodie bag is handed out to all female visitors.

In the past years, the magazine has become one of the most prominent wedding publications in the country. The 200-pager consists of articles pertaining to successful marriages, health-related issues; make-up planning and relationships with a convenient check list for a typical wedding.

With the Sunday Times, one of the largest national newspapers, being a media partner, in conjunction with Sony TV Indian, the three day event is broadcasted globally about six times in countries such as the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Dubai, Far East and the rest of Africa.
