Peru & Bala to say Farewell KZN in grand style!

On Saturday 06 December 2014, “Nice like that” and “Not nice to laugh at other people’s problems” are phrases that will be heard on Lotus FM for the last time, as the country’s most famous senior citizens of sit-down comedy, the Uncles Peru & Bala, bring down the curtains on their illustrious entertainment careers. That’s because the iconic duo of Vikash Mathura and Ray Maharaj are less than one month away from retiring from radio. And now, after more than 20 sold-out Farewell Tour shows, these broadcasting legends are going to bow-out in style!

But KZN fans are not going to be left out. As their final broadcast looms, a 12-hour carnival has been planned for Chatsworth Stadium (Saturday, 06 December) & Phoenix Marieammen Temple Grounds (Sunday, 07 December), appropriately entitled THE PERU & BALA FAREWELL PARTY. The dates for these two gigantic shows coincide with the final broadcast of Mathura and Maharaj’s number-one radio show, the “Week End Lift Off”. The carnival atmosphere will be enhanced by a “Tri-Nations Car Show and Shine” that will culminate in a “Sound-off” for motoring enthusiasts. The main stage comes alive at 1pm with a “Battle of the Bands”, followed by a Nagara music session. At 7pm, the dynamic funny man Karou Charou will host “That Kid’s got Talent”, an event that will showcase children under-10.

Thereafter, Vikash Mathura and Ray Maharaj will explode onto stage with their record-breaking “Peru & Bala Farewell Tour”. Fans will then be treated to a massive Bhangra Fusion Party that will keep the audience dancing until midnight. With thousands of fans expected to fill the stadiums, it promises to be event of epic proportion. Tickets are available from Computicket, and are priced at R30; R50 and R100 (Golden Circle). There’s also free entry for children under-6 and senior citizens over-65! For further enquiries, call Box Office Promotions on 083 660 1424, or email info@boxofficesa.com.

This is it…fans will never get to see this again. It’s the end of an era!
