Earlier this morning, Indianspice was contacted by Shrivaar Panday’s family, their loss of someone loved is unbearable however they have the intent to deal with this. The family are grieving but below is a plea from them.
On behalf of the Panday family i would like to personally thank you for your write up on the insensitive nature in which the media handled Shrivaar Panday’s incident last week. I am his sister’s husband and trust me when i say that we found the way in which the media handled this case was extremely unfair to us. Content was incorrect, images were highly insensitive and their “pushy” approach at both our homes and the funeral.
If you can, please can you post an article requesting for witnesses to come forward. without witnesses it makes the case very difficult.
Once again, thank you and kind regards,
Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Mmamonnye Ngobeni said the team had traced witnesses to help with drawing an identikit.
“This case won’t be left unsolved,” she said, adding that she was concerned about the number of students being killed, including two Durban students who were stabbed in their VW Golf cars within a day of each other.
Third-year student Panday, 22, was stabbed in his red Golf on Monday, and Samaritan Kurtlee Benjamin Pillay, 20, of Overport, was attacked and stabbed more than 20 times and dragged behind his car late on Tuesday.
Three men aged between 20 and 26 have been arrested for the murder of Pillay and were expected to appear in court soon, while no arrests have been made in the Panday murder. Source click here
