Actonville Murder: Arrest Breakthrough

Johannesburg: Sadiqah Bacchus, a 16yo  teenager was stabbed multiple times at her home in Actonville, Benoni and whose body was found by a relative in their house was laid to rest on Wednesday. Her burial was done according to Islamic custom where a deceased person is buried within 24 hours.

Police are confident of an arrest of perpetrators with the co-ordinated efforts of the community assisting them.


The gruesome find was discovered on Tuesday evening. “A case of murder has been opened and the matter is under investigation. The motive for the murder is still unknown,” said police spokesman Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng.

The investigating officers are keen to review the post-mortem results to determine the cause of death.  According to police spokesman Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng, there was no signs of theft at the victims residence.

No arrests have been made, however police are confident of breakthrough.  Local residents of Actonville and members of the Community Policing Forum are working closely to assist the authorities to find the perpetrators of this violent crime.
