NRI, SA Indians Working Together On Modi Visit

Narendra Modi welcoming committee hosted members of the media at Swad Restaurant, Killarney to kick off their SAWelcomesModi event where the Indian Prime Minister is scheduled to address South Africa’s NRI and SA Indian community on July 8th at the Coca Cola Dome in Johannesburg.

Mahendra Raghunath of SABC News welcomed guests and media to the event and is also serving as a volunteer on the South African project team alongside Yashika Singh, Lucy Sigaban & Jayesperi Moopen.

This historical visit is billed to be one based on the legacy of South Africa’s Indian community and also one of commerce for the visiting

PM. The committee in charge of this event is spearheaded by heavyweights from both the Non-Resident Indian and that of a South African Indian business/community sector.

The actual details of Modi’s itinerary will include a multi-cultural programme that encompasses the best of South African entertainment including Grammy award winning artists. The public are urged to participate in this historical event by attending the diaspora event on July 8th at the Dome however this is strictly by invitation which can be applied for on the SAWelcomesModi website which has already garnered 5,500 requests for invitations.
