Ripped And Ready! Fitness Tips With SRK

Bollywood men like John Abraham, Varun Dhawan and a host of others work out to keep their buff bodies in shape for their next movie.  Shah Rukh Khan is no different, well that was only when he had to start getting his body ripped for Om Shanti Om.  His fitness regime only composed of pull-ups, push-ups and the monkey until 2008.

Every person is different hence why a workout routine is built according to your limits. Never attempt to copycat a routine, work with your trainer to achieve maximum output and results.

In a recent interview with GQ India, Khan opened up as to how he maintains his chiselled look, some of these tips might be helpful and to consider with your trainer when you decide to transform.

He has a gym set up in his house and works out there at least 5 days a week, doing 25 minute sessions.  Shah Rukh relies on his trainer to keep him fit and avoid exacerbating his injuries. His shoulder injury rules out bench presses, while a broken patella restricts cardio activity.

Khan who has a knee injury avoid further impact on his joints and opts for cycling He wears special gym armour which weighs around 10 kgs to increase the difficulty level.

The actor has no patience for excuses like “I have a back ache” or “I’m too tired.” If he has time to work out for half an hour daily despite enduring shoulder injuries and multiple surgeries, so can you.

Shah Rukh always wanted to be a sportsman, a goal that seemed achievable when he was younger and more athletic. He used to run the 100mt and 200mt races, and played hockey, football and cricket. The only two sports he didn’t master were swimming and horse riding. Swimming because of his shoulder injury and horse riding, well, “it’s just unfair to the animal”.
