It is very important to start your day on a good note because it is this time that sets the tone for the rest of the day. So many people have written about morning rituals and how to get up early in the morning, you have likely heard all of it. Still, the next day when the alarm goes off, the temptation to snooze overrides your ambition. The problem arises when we set the bar too high. It is always good to take baby steps, because when we make big goals and plans and are not able to achieve them we tend to quit easily. The trick is to start small, and be consistent. Take a look at this ten minute easy-breezy routine for you and that will set you up for a successful day:
1. Be grateful
Being thankful is a very powerful and happy emotion. It helps us to stay grounded in the present moment and brings peace and joy. And it will hardly take you a minute to do this! Before getting out of your bed just remind yourself of the things you are grateful for. You don’t need a big list for it – count only three blessings.
We understand that you have a hectic schedule, and you don’t get time for yourself. To have a morning exercise routine can be hectic, blah blah and blah! However, with all the perfect excuses you have to give, 2 minutes of stretching would do no harm. A few minutes of stretching will give just enough physical movement and flexibility to the body. It helps to increase circulation in the body and even calms the mind.
Just a few minutes of stillness is all you need. It will help you to stay focused on your work and be more productive.
4. Give squishy hugs
It has been scientifically proven that hugging often can elevate your happiness, heal anxiety and stress. So make sure that you get one and give one everyday.
5. Dream for two minutes
A vision can help improve your health. To make it easy for you create an album on your phone with inspirational pictures from Pinterest or Instagram. Then, take two minutes each morning to look at them and dream about your ideal life. Dream big and positive!
6. Chant to yourself
Look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself “I Love You”. You might feel like an idiot for a few seconds, but do hold your gaze and mean it. Loving and appreciating yourself is one of the best ways to boost self-esteem. It is very important to start your day with a powerful morning routine; make sure you don’t leave your day to chance.
