We had told you just a while back that Tusshar Kapoor had become a proud single father through IVF and surrogacy. And the baby was named Laksshya. And at a recent event, Tusshar spoke about his kid, and how his parents were actually apprehensive of announcing it to the public. He spoke about how his parents had doubts revealing it to the public that his child was conceived through IVF and surrogacy considering Indian society might not accept it.
He said, “Initially my parents were a little bit apprehensive whether I should announce the child to be one born through IVF and surrogacy or not. Because they were like ‘You don’t know how it is going to be taken in India, why even announce it, why don’t you just tell friends, then the friends will tell more friends.”
Well, considering the typical Indian society and its mindset, seems like Tusshar’s parents’ concerns were justified. He was speaking at a special event of Jaslok Hospital to spread awareness about In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) and surrogacy. But Tusshar added that he was happy about the fact that people accepted that he had a child through surrogacy. “Everybody in the country has been very accepting. That was a bit surprise for me because I thought there would be diverse views, some kind of ‘oohs and ahas’ about it, all kinds of opinion. But nothing of that sort happened. Especially the media has been so supportive of Laksshya and my choice of having a family in this manner.” That’s really cool, Tusshar!
