Even if you have the best job in the world, you can be still feel ‘worked’ up! We give half of our life to work and it’s no surprise that we tend to burn out too. It is ok to feel unmotivated or uninspired but the key is to keep telling yourself to go on and make few changes in your work life. 1. You are always working.
It important to unplug after work. It might not take a lot of time to send an email but the expectation to work after office can prevent employees from having work life balance.
2. You don’t take short breaks while working.
According to a recent study in The Atlantic, frequent breaks while working can help you rejuvenate and reboot your system. Fix a time for yourself to take a break from work.
3. Not hydrating yourself enough.
If you feel lazy and sluggish most of the time, rather than filling up your system with caffeine which dehydrates you, drink more water. Even a little bit dehydration can make you cranky and you might have problem focusing on work. Keep a bottle of water handy!
4. You prefer to stay inside office.
A bit of sunshine doesn’t harm anyone! Try and take breaks outdoors whenever possible to absorb some natural light and breathe in some fresh air.
5. You compare yourself to others.
Be grateful for what you have. It is easy to compare your job with others’ but remember that every job has its own problems. Practice to be more thankful and appreciative! Focus your energy on positive side of the job and people around you.
6. You don’t prefer to talk.
Miscommunication is the key to all the problems especially at the workplace. It is important to maintain a cordial relationship and understand others’ communication style and try to motivate your team-mates.
7. You don’t care.
Practice compassion. If you care about the people you work with, it helps you be less negative and cynical about what you are going through. This is because you will have people to support around and help you bear the pressure.
8. You don’t prioritise sleep.
Lack of sleep can cause lot of damage and it can make you moody. It can tire you both emotionally as well as physically.
