Bollywood star Vidya Balan has been diagnosed with dengue on Friday and has since been put under observation at home. Two of her neighbours, including actor Shahid Kapoor, were served notices by the BMC on Friday, for failing to prevent breeding of aedes aegypti mosquito inside their swanky apartments on Juhu Tara road.
Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan share the same building. Both live in Juhu’s plush sea-facing Praneta Apartments. While Vidya lives on the third floor, Sasha and Mira stay on the ground floor.
Recently, it has been reported of Vidya being down with dengue. The actress has now stopped work and will resume only after she’s fit to shoot. While we wish the actress a speedy recovery, we hear that the BMC has sent a notice to Shahid Kapoor instead. Yes, the BMC checked the building after getting to know about Vidya’s health.

The BMC found two mosquito breeding spots in the building – one in the fourth-floor apartment and one in Shahid’s. The check conducted showed positive results and it was then detected that Shahid’s swimming pool which was unused for some time is a breeding area for mosquitoes. BMC has called for strict action against both the apartment owners which include Sasha.
Shahid’s spokesperson told a daily, “Shahid is concerned about the findings of BMC in his building and in the locality, especially so with a newborn in his house. He is also grateful to the BMC for the check conducted in the locality, which is vulnerable during the rainy season and because of its proximity to the sea.”
