Protesters Attack Padmavati Set In Jaipur

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali was slapped by protesters at the sets of his film Padmavati at Amer fort in Jaipur today, NDTV has reported.

The protesters were reportedly outraged and alleged that the film shows a much-celebrated Rajput queen in poor light.

Members of the Rajput Karni Sena vandalized the sets at Jaigarh Fort which also disrupted shooting. According to the slogans that the protestors shouted, they alleged that the film has love scenes between Queen Padmini and ruler Alauddin Khilji, the roles that are being played by Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.

The Karni Sena says Padmini was a proud queen known for taking her own life rather than submit to Alauddin Khilji, the emperor who attacked the Chittorgarh Fort. The Rajput Karni Sena has demanded and suggested SLB to delete any such scene in the film
