LotusFM: SABC Protecting Station Management

On The Air

The recent resignation of veteran DJ Neville Pillay from the embattled Indian lifestyle station, LotusFM has not gone down well with the public. Majority  are calling for the resignation of the current marketing manager and of the station manager with immediate effect.

Former employees who worked with Balbadan at previous companies have come forward to confirm that he has a history of abusive tendencies that resulted in him being fired in one instance.

A common threat that he has allegedly mentioned is, “People who have an issue must see him outside with his gat (gun).”

The station released a short statement on Facebook yesterday regarding the exit of former #MorningRush presenter:

“As the SABC we can confirm that Neville Pillay has resigned from LotusFM and his resignation has been accepted. The SABC and LotusFM would like to wish him well in his future endeavors. We are therefore not going to engage in any mudslinging with him in the public domain. Regards, SABC Communications.”

It has also come to light that staffers are looking to senior SABC Human Resources staff to intervene at the station as SABC Human Resource Manager, Khabo Nhleko has been working in favour of the Lotus FM management irrespective of their transgression. She has been known to protect management at every turn, staff are positive to have Zoli Mapipa a senior HR executive and others to take interest in the manner that incidents are being handled at the station.
