The much anticipated premiere in Durban of the rip roaring local comedy movie directed by Jayan Moodley ‘Keeping Up With Kandasamys’ was held last night at Ster Kinekor at Umhlanga’s Gateway.
Even though the invite explicitly stated or should we say hashtagged to be #KeepingUpWithTheTrends as expected the who’s who and the who’s that of Durban society rocked up in glam fashion and some looked as if they woke up in a barn, blame those ones for shooting straight from work I suppose.
Here’s two who definitely put the right foot forward fashion sense wise.
The stunning Mishqah Parthiepal stepped out as if she was ready to walk onto a fashion ramp as all diva’s should and Rory Booth styled by Kireshen Chetty Official for the Durban premiere.
It was clearly an emotional journey for the cast and crew of ‘Keeping Up With Kandasamys‘ – this was their crowning moment of glory. The most appropriate adjective I would use is the colloquial word ‘shambiez‘ to describe how the Kandasamy product exploded last night with the buzz around the movie’s maiden launch. My social media streams were overflowing in my hand as I could not getaway from the Instagram, Twitter & Facebook assault of the Kandasamy’s.
In typical pomp and ceremony, every Indian affair must include a Bollywood item number to some rather mild dance routine which was broadcast live on Facebook. You can check that out here
The movie was a HIT, the underdog you should look out for is Mariam Bassa, she practically stole the show!
Logie Where You?!
Logie Naidoo, the official ribbon cutter of Durban was present at the premiere however some needed to double check if he was actually there. Yo Homi Durban’s lifestyle blogger, Homaira Khan was in the audience when this happened.
Someone in the crowd just shouted out "Logie where you?!" 😂😂 #KandasamysMovie— Homaira Khan (@HomairaKhan) February 16, 2017
And we have proof he was there……
