An unattended bag set off an evacuation at Durban’s King Shaka International Airport on Sunday, the Airports Company of SA (Acsa) said.
“We just had an unattended bag that a police dog had responded to,” said Acsa spokesperson Colin Naidoo.
The bomb squad was called in to inspect it, but it turned out to be a false alarm.
“It was found to be all clear,” he said.
Operations were back to normal and there had been no delays to flights.
In a series of tweets, the airport said the unattended bag had been reported to police, according to procedure.
