South Africa’s Ayushi Chhabra Is A Hit In Los Angeles

A former Gandhi Walk ambassador, Ayushi Chhabra is making waves in the USA as a Performing Artist and Model.

In 2010, Ayushi Chhabra made her debut appearance in Lenasia working with the Gandhi Walk Committee as a brand ambassador for the 25th Annual Gandhi Walk. A former Miss India SA in Gauteng herself, the scene was already set back then that she was destined for much bigger things and the decision was taken together with her parents for her to move abroad to pursue her interest and a career in the Performing Arts and Modelling.

Based in Los Angeles, California, today Ayushi’s work includes TV host and segment presenter on ShowBiz India, reaching over 35 million viewers. Some of her commercial modelling work includes campaigns for some of the world’s leading brands, including Google, Apple, Samsung, Facebook, Snapchat, Emirates Airlines (USA) and Tea India.

Over the years, Ayushi has maintained close ties with Gandhi Walk Committee Chairman, and says she still remembers the euphoria of the day when she stood at the start line of such an epic event as the Gandhi Walk is, having to greet and address thousands of walkers in Lenasia at a time when South African’s spirits were on a high as it was the FIFA Soccer World Cup year. It was also when the Gandhi Walk Committee together with the 1860 Legacy Foundation was launching the Gauteng campaign for marking 150 years of Indians in South Africa. That experience – amongst others – created such levels of confidence for me personally, it is indeed very humbling to think back about it now, adds Ayushi.

“With South Africa celebrating Women’s month, it is inspiring to see how our young women can excel internationally in the Performing Arts. Aside from her modelling success Aysuhi is making waves with Red Carpet appearances and being cast as the leading lady in music videos, web-series and films. Top of the picks for me is her lead character role in SAJA, a film which is still to be released about a Muslim woman who is an acid attack survivor, says Amit Parbhucharan, Gandhi Walk Committee Chairman.

“I salute the work that the Gandhi Walk Committee does in the community and am ever-eager to assist them in whatever way I can. I am very grateful for their support and acknowledgement of my work in the Performing Arts and Modelling abroad in celebration of Women’s Month in South Africa”, said Ayushi Chhabra.
