25-year-old Bianca Rungasamy from Queensburgh, south of Durban is on a mission to educate the public on the advantages of waste management, recycling and water conservation.
Recently named “Miss Water”, after placing second in this year’s Miss Earth South Africa competition – Bianca hopes her love for the environment will elevate her into a role model to fellow South Africans. Bianca says that unlike other competitions of a similar type,
“Miss Earth” tends to focus more influencing and growing young people – rather than the aesthetic aspect of it’s participants.
