Work at Indian Spice

Indian Spice, a division of AdiShakti Media is the largest digital online platform talking to the lucrative Indian market of Southern Africa.

The digital platform provides news and entertainment content that that speaks to predominantly Indian audience but also to various race groups seeking news that matters to the South African community whether it is international or local.

Indian Spice has over a million unique website visitors and reached over 2,5 million people across social media.

Sharing stories that matters to our generation. What makes us different is quite simply our FOMO (for the uninitiated non-millennial, that’s our news-hungry fear of missing out). We live by a hunger to know and have it all, and that’s what Indian Spice strives to appease through its unbiased looking glass.

Work at indianspice

Our team is a collective of newshounds, maverick story tellers, editors, producers, designers, analysts and reporters who have cut their teeth on the best news teams in the country.

We make sense of the systematic chaos that is the world today and seek to bring you the story, however you want it – on your phone through videos, op-eds, infographics, animations and documentaries.

We are a virtual newsroom.

By working virtually our team functions outside the office, sometimes in Pj’s (if they wear any) in their home or in a coffee shop or in a shared space, and produce beautiful content, news & entertainment for our readers.

If you’re expecting a 9 – 5pm kind of situation this job is NOT for you, we work flexible shifts and that means sometimes we’re waiting for a tweet to drop from Priyanka Chopra at 2AM or we’re writing a story on our phones while we try out a new fancy spa’s massage treatments so we say good things about them.

Yes – that’s exactly how things go down.

We’re looking for a range of people with colorful personalities to join our team; people who are passionate about the Indian Diaspora, South Africa, social, entertainment and current issues and are able to take on a range of responsibilities.

We are expanding operations in South Africa and in other countries and for these roles you will need to be free for an internship/training if you are successful. You must have access to Internet and a laptop, and a keen willingness to learn!

What we need from you

  1. Record a 3-minute video and tell us stuff that we wouldn’t find on your resume. Be fun, relaxed and let your personality shine! Publish your video on Youtube or Vimeo. Ensure that the video is in private/unlisted mode & send us the link to view.
  2. We need a 2-page resume.

Drop us these 2 items on an email to info (at) and we will get back to you in due course to setup an interview should you impress us!
