Born and bred in Durban, and now conquering the world, Courtnae’ Paul is a pioneer for SA female break dancers and dancers alike.
She has recently returned from the biggest dance festival in the world, held in Heerlen, Netherlands. The competition comprises of the worlds top dancers. No prizes just street cred. A self-funded SA team of 5 went through to rep and leave their mark, Courtnae as the only female.
Courtnae’ boasts over 10 years of professional performance, choreography, entertainment, creative direction, and stage management experience. Based on her passion, drive and dedication she has become an accomplished South African Dance figure and a highly recommended professional.
Her specialized dance style coupled with limitless creativity and an out of the box, innovative mindset brings a vibrant, edgy and unique feel to any event.
She started dance by mistake when she was 13 – in fact she got into dancing by performing in “Bollywood” dances in Durban.
Courtnae’ also has a strong media presence, having been profiled on Top Billing, 5FM, Expresso, Vuzu, YFM, East coast Radio, Touch HD, Good Hope FM, and Cliff Central to name a few, she draws on her experience to conceptualize and produce first class entertainment offerings.
Courtnae’ has worked on projects as creative, choreographer and performer for brands such as VW, Landrover, Jeep, Absa, Telkom, Nedbank, Standard Bank, PLAY, Sprite, New Balance, Mercedes-Benz and Old mutual. She has also opened for, and shared the stage with international artists such as Lil Wayne, Pitbull, Jay Sean, Akon, Fatman Scoop, Rae Sremmurd and Burna Boy, as well as toured, choreographed and performed with local artists such as Toya Delazy, who she toured with for a year, Reason, Lloyd Cele, Tamara Dey, Mafikizolo, The Graeme Watkins Project, George Avakian, iFani, Khuli Chana, Da L.E.S, AKA, Rouge, and Micasa.
Amongst all this, she still finds the time to continuously elevate her skill set and give back to the younger generation of dancers, by hosting workshops locally and internationally. She has also ventured into the world of presenting and DJ’ing, an easy progression for her on stage performance background.
