Calling LGBT & POC writers

Know a writer who’s a POC and/or LGBT? Spread the word we’re looking for fresh minds! Gay Desi covers the LGBT movement news in current affairs, events, entertainment, history, society, and politics.

Though we’re Indian-centric publication, we don’t stick to stories that would only appeal to an Indo-African audience. You might find yourself writing about anything from bad coffee to the great lunch, who knows?

It’s a big world …

Sharing stories that matters to our generation. What makes us different is quite simply our FOMO (for the uninitiated non-millennial, that’s our news-hungry fear of missing out). We live by a hunger to know and have it all, and that’s what Indian Spice strives to appease through its unbiased looking glass.

We also feature numerous essays, perspective pieces, artist profiles and interviews, and a variety of entertainment reviews (books, films, theatre shows, etc.). The editorial staff will be accepting feature articles, entertainment reviews (600 to 1200 words), and poetry (under 50 lines).

Some topics we want to cover are around the following below

  • Family
  • Love/Relationships
  • Faith/Spirituality
  • Sexuality
  • Breaking Gender Binaries
  • Work and/or School

We’re always looking for regular and occasional contributions from you. All contributors’ work is non-paying and non-exclusive and you retain copyright. As such, all original writing is yours to syndicate. It’s your platform to reach thousands of people every month!

We cannot promise to publish everything you send us, but will give all contributions full consideration within the context of our current objectives and goals. We’d like you to share your views, thoughts, stories and ideas with intelligence, style and wit.
