Don 3: Priyanka Chopra still the leading lady

While awaiting the release of PadmavatiDeepika Padukone is also flooded with offers from both Hollywood and Bollywood.

One of the most exciting one of late is filling the shoes of Priyanka Chopra in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Don 3.

It has been long since Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Shah Rukh Khan have been contemplating going ahead with the idea of Don 3, and that seems to finally be materialising. And since the franchise’s previous female lead Priyanka Chopra is busy with the shooting of the third season of her American TV show Quantico, with plenty of other offers from the West at hand, there was buzz that the makers are looking at Deepika Padukone to fill in her shoes.

However, as per latest reports, the film’s co-producer, Ritesh Sidhwani suggests otherwise. Speaking to the media during the success party of Fukrey Returns, Sidhwani was riddled about Deepika’s inclusion in the plans of Don 3.

To that, the producer replied, “Deepika is not part of ‘Don.” However, he confirmed that the film is on the cards, and will soon be announced. “We are working on that and very soon we will announce that also,” said Sidhwani.

Talking about his other projects, Sidhwani said,

“Now we have produced comedy and next from our side will be ‘3 Storeys’ which will be a completely different film releasing in February. Then we are coming up with ‘Gold’ and ‘Gully Boy’ so all these films are different in terms of genre and none of them are comedies, so I think people should follow what they believe in and the kind of stories they want to tell. If you try to do the same thing or emulate something which is not inherent, I don’t think success will come your way.”
