Starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor, “Padmaavat” is being touted as one of the most anticipated Bollywood releases of 2017.
Actress Deepika Padukone says that she can’t wait for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial ‘Padmaavat‘ to release.
She graced the Van Heusen and GQ Fashion Nights in Mumbai and during the media interaction, the actress said: “I will only say that the love we all are getting, whether it is for posters or trailer or song. I think we all are very excited and overwhelmed by the response and we can’t wait to share this film with everyone.”
“It has been an incredible journey and we are literally counting the days. We can’t wait for the film to release and we can’t wait to share this experience with everyone,” added the actress.
Padmaavat has set off fiery controversy in India, as many fringe and Rajput groups are protesting its release.
The movie sets out to tell the tale of Rani Padmavati – the legendary Mewar queen known as much for her beauty and intelligence as she was for her courage, her husband Maharawal Ratan Singh – a glorious Rajput ruler and a warrior king who fought till his dying breath to defend his kingdom and his wife’s honor and Sultan Alauddin Khilji – an ambitious and obsessive invader.
