Wondering why we stress over the date? It’s our darling Shahid Kapoor‘s birthday. Nearly six months after welcoming a baby girl Misha in September 2016, wifey Mira Rajput had hosted a star-studded birthday party for her hubby dearest. However, this year, Sasha has reportedly decided to ditch a grand bash for some spiritual time on his 37th.
Shahid will ring in the day by attending a satsang in Beas, a river-front town in the district of Amritsar. He will be joined by wife Mira Rajput, daughter Misha and parents-in-law Vikramaditya and Bela. Last seen in Padmaavat, the actor is now busy with the first leg of shoot schedule for Shree Narayan Singh’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu, he shall allegedly take a break from shooting for his upcoming birthday. The satsang is by the Radha Soami sect, the same spiritual group through which Shahid Kapoor’s family met Mira Rajput’s.
“Shahid and Mira missed Valentine’s Day and the actor wanted to keep up with the annual tradition of celebrating birthdays with satsangs and a visit to Beas,” a source was quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror. Misha and Mira were recently spotted at the airport which sparked off rumours of them joining the actor on the sets in Uttarakhand. “It’s freezing in Uttarakhand at the moment and Mira and Misha are heading home to Delhi. Shahid will be flying to the Capital first, after which the family will travel to Beas together,” Mumbai Mirror quoted a source as saying.
Shahid and Mira were away from each other this Valentine’s Day. While the superstar is busy with his professional commitments, Mrs Kapoor was ‘majorly missing’ him back home. She even took to her Instagram account and posted a story featuring the couple sharing a delectable moment in the gym and captioned it as “Major Missing”.
Batti Gul Meter Chalu is a social-comedy-drama, which stars Shraddha Kapoor opposite Shahid and Yami Gautam has been roped in to play the second lead. Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the film is based on a social cause and chronicles a tale around electricity.
Shree Narayan Singh also made Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, which tackled the issue of open defecation and revolved around Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The release date of Batti Gul Meter Chalu hasn’t been announced as yet.
