South Africa’s President Ramaphosa at Gandhi Walk Lenasia

President Cyril Ramaphosa joined thousands of supporters this Sunday, April 15 to participate in a 12km fun walk at the 33rd Annual Gandhi Walk in Lenasia, Johannesburg.

The annual fundraiser that is organised by the Gandhi Walk Committee (GWC), promotes community and health awareness.

The theme for this year is “Going Green”, that focuses on championing social change and promoting community awareness, to change attitudes and behaviours towards climate change and greener living.

The #GandhiWalk2018 will also raise awareness for the fight against Rhino poaching. Last month, the president participated in a 5km walk from the Gugulethu Sports Complex to Athlone Stadium.

Other government officials who are participating in the in this year’s Gandhi Walk are Minister of Public Service and Administration Ayanda Dlodlo.
