BREAKING: Imam Hussein Mosque suspected bomb device discovered

A suspected bomb device has been found in the Imam Hussain #Mosque in #Verulam in #KZN. According to the Reaction Unit South Africa the device connected to a Nokia mobile phone was found under the Moulana’s chair. On Thursday one person was killed and two others injured in an attack on the place of worship.

It’s understood around 10 worshippers were inside the mosque for prayers at around 6 o’clock this evening. After praying ,while trying to move the pulpit, they found a white capsule with two wires attached to a cellphone.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa are currently on scene at the Imam Hussein Mosque on Old Main Road – Ottawa in Kwazulu-Natal after a device resembling a bomb has been located inside the building.

The area has been evacuated & the SAPS Bomb Disposal Unit has been summoned. The home of the victim that died after he had his throat slit has also been evacuated.

The device found is a small cellphone connected via wires to a white capsule.
