Amidst sold-out houses, Atif Aslam proved again why he is known as the ‘Prince of Bollywood’ this past weekend during his tour around South Africa.
Atif Aslam has set unprecedented examples in the music industry. He has successfully bridged the cultural gap between Pakistan and India contributing his talents to a number of hit songs in Bollywood. He has received more than 15 awards and distinctions and his profound love for music, dedication to his work and conviction has helped him win millions of hearts around the globe.
“Atif is easily one of the most talented singers to come out of Pakistan and ever since his debut performance in South Africa in 2015 and again in 2016 where he shared the stage for the first time on African soil with Sonu Nigam, fans have continued to request his return to SA,” adds Osman Osman.
Even well-known radio & TV presenter, Kriya Gangiah joined in on the festivities at Atif Aslam’s sold out Johannesburg show. “Atif Aslam is no stranger to South Africa but every time he performs on our shores he blows us away and Sunday night’s show was simply spectacular. You couldn’t help but be drawn in by his exceptional charisma and charm,” she comments.
Fans were treated to some of his most popular numbers including ‘Who Lamhey’, ‘Tu Jaane Na’ and the most recent hit ‘O Saathi’ from the latest Bollywood blockbuster, Bhaagi 2. This song has become immensely popular since the release of the film with the music video having received over 46 million views since being posted in March.
“Atif was a major success. It was such a pity that we had to turn people away for the show but we knew that these tickets were going to sell out quickly! With such a demand, I have no doubt we’ll be seeing Atif again on our shores in the near future.”
