Prabhu Deva’s ‘Lakshmi’ set to release on August 24

Prabhu Deva’s upcoming film Lakshmi, directed by Vijay, is a dance movie revolving around a strict dance master and his student.

Choreographer turned actor Prabhu Deva’s dance-based family entertainer film Lakshmi has got clearance from the Tamil Film Producers Council’s regulation committee to release on August 24. Interestingly, the producers of Nayanthara’s Imaikkaa Nodigal are also trying their best to get the August 24 slot.

Aishwarya Rajesh plays the female lead in the film and child dance protege Ditya Bhande plays a pivotal role. Karunakaran, Kovai Sarala, Salman Yusuff Khan, Chams, Akshat Singh, Jeet Das, and Sam Paul are also playing important roles in Lakshmi.

Prabhu reportedly said that it was a wonderful experience to work with AL Vijay for ‘Abhinetri’. Apparently, when they were planning to make a sequel to the film, Prabhu heard the ‘Lakshmi’ script and loved it. Background score is very important for such films and Sam CS has given extraordinary music for the film.

The 1 minute 28 seconds long teaser of ‘Lakshmi’ is a promising one. It doesn’t reveal much about the storyline of the movie but assures that the movie will be a benchmark for dance-based films and will be well-accepted by the audiences. This is the story of a dancing legend and his extraordinary students.

Produced by Prateek Chakravorty, Shruti Nallappa, and R. Ravindran under the banner of  Pramod Films and Trident Arts, Sam CS of Vikram Vedha fame takes care of the music department the film and Nirav Shah of ‘2.0’ fame has cranked the camera.
