His tweet, “#Keralafloods. #beef+#festival = #Karma. “As you sow so shall you reap” has been met with disgust from social media users.

Sinath has defended his tweet by stating that his religious beliefs as taught by the International Society for Krsna Consciousness justify his stance on the disaster-struck state of Kerala, India.

Livashlin Naidoo was outraged by the tweet questioned Sinath’s employers Lotus FM over the tweet,

@Lotusfm is this the calibre of individuals the #SABC employees, who see fit to make light of the #KeralaFloods victim. I’m absolutely disgusted and appalled by this behaviour. The loss of human life is a real tragedy and to be equated with imaginary divine justice.

In a response to Naidoo, Sinath responded,

“Hey Mr Naidoo. As you are entitled to your opinions, I am also entitled to mines. I base my comments on a sound spiritual belief based on the teachings of Bhagavad Gita as it is and Srimad Bhagavatam as given to us by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada.”

  1. I do not agree with Diresh’s logic, however his opinion has nothing to do with Lotus FM & his capacity to perform his job.

  2. You’ll come across people like this all the time. They don’t understand the higher aspects of life and the subtle laws that govern it and somehow it becomes the fault of the learned who identify the problem.
Diresh Sinath was spot on with his assessment of things from the way he was taught. Most… actually… ALL Hare Krishnas are taught the very same thing. Now that becomes a problem for others who cannot accept or understand this. We should thank Diresh for sacrificing complacency and educating us on the hard truths, not condemn him.
It’s very sad that so many lives were lost in the tragedy, no doubt. But if we cannot identify the root cause of these tragedies and fix them, be prepared for millions more to die soon. The laws of nature is not apologetic for one’s ignorance – it will act regardless. So, if we know the solution, let’s work together to fix the problem.
