Telangana Floral Festival in South Africa

If you are not from Telangana the 29th state of India, chances are you have never heard about Bathukamma.

Bathukamma is a floral festival celebrated by Hindu women of Telangana for nine days during Durga Navratri. The local branch of the Telangana community in Gauteng will be hosting the event in Midrand, Johannesburg,

The event will be a showcase of the rich Telangana cultural heritage, traditional programs from Telangana & local South African artists.

So here’s a bit of introduction and information about Bathukamma, the festival of flowers of Telangana.

TASA will be celebrating #Bathukamma2018 on the 13th of October 2018, Saturday from 2pm in Midrand, Gauteng.

Bathukamma represents cultural spirit of Telangana and is a beautiful flower stack, arranged with different unique seasonal flowers most of them with medicinal values, in seven layers in the shape of temple gopuram.

This event will also provide a platform for national and international business and professional forums to engage with each other.

TASA has invited several government officials from India for various activities and participation in SA. TASA played a crucial role in establishing bi-lateral relationship for conducting business between Telangana state and Free State and Kwazulu-Natal provinces of South Africa.
