The ‘Township Yogi’ screening on Mandela Day

#DURBAN: This Mandela Day, 18 July 2019 the South African Depression & Anxiety Group in association with UKZN will be hosting a charity benefit screening of the ‘Township Yogi. ‘

Renowned American Actor/Director Blair Underwood is a Producer and Narrator on the film, as well as an ambassador for the Township Yogi Project.

The Township Yogi Project offers free yoga classes to people living in townships in South Africa.

The ‘Township Yogi’ Documentary has been produced to raise awareness of the project and a percentage of profits from the film will be donated to the ‘Township Yogi’ Project.

The organisation sets up grassroots yoga studios in the heart of township communities, and with the help of volunteer yoga teachers. They are able to provide free and regular yoga classes to those living in townships who need it most – including children and the elderly, HIV/Aids and TB sufferers, and those who are victims of crime, violence and unemployment.
