Set against the backdrop of Mughal Era, the period drama is slated to hit the screens in December 2020.
Karan Johar’s Takht starring Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated projects.
Speaking of the film, a new report in Mumbai Mirror suggests that Takht is all set to go on floors in February next year. It wasn’t too long ago when KJo had shared a video on his Instagram handle of the team Takht prepping up for the film.
Confirming film’s shoot schedule, a source close to the film informed Mumbai Mirror, “The film kicks off in February with a start-to-finish schedule. Being a period film, the technical team is presently focused on the sets and locations and the script, while also deciding on the diction and mannerism of the characters. Work on the visual effects will take place simultaneously with the shoot so the film is ready on time.”
The report further suggests that Karan Johar will be conducting workshops for the cast which will help them to get in the skin of the character. On that, the source further said, “Everyone has a distinct look. While Anil will have to put on some extra kilos, Ranveer and Vicky will have to look lean and mean. Every character has been inspired by history and since Ranveer has dabbled in the genre a few times in the past, from playing Peshwa Bajirao to Allauddin Khilji, the goal is to make him look different from what he has already done.”
Set in the Mughal era, Takht is touted to be KJo’s one of the most ambitious projects ever.
