Navratri is one such example of celebrating this very diversity where the word Navaratri means nine nights in Sanskrit; nava meaning nine and ratri meaning nights. During these nine nights and ten days, nine different forms of the goddess are worshipped. Navratri, the nine-night festival, honors Goddess Durga, Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Saraswathi in South India. It is known as Bommla Koluvu in Andhra Pradesh and Navarathri in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
