Rajkummar Rao, Priyanka Chopra unite in Netflix show ‘The White Tiger’

Upcoming Netflix film The White Tiger, starring Rajkummar Rao and Priyanka Chopra, has been the talk of the town since it was announced.

This is the first time Rajkummar and Priyanka will be sharing screen space. Ramin Bahrani is directing the film which is based on Aravind Adiga’s Man Booker prize-winning novel of the same name.

“I met Ramin here in Mumbai with his casting team and it was great meeting him and reading with him. I’ve been a big admirer of his work and really excited to work with him. I am very excited to work with Priyanka as well. Looking forward to start shooting soon.

Rajkummar will start shooting in October. Netflix is producing The White Tiger in association with Mukul Deora. Bahrani is also writing the screenplay. Priyanka will also serve as the executive producer.

The White Tiger follows the extraordinary journey of a self-made man from tea-shop worker in a village to successful entrepreneur in a big city.

Priyanka talking about the project further added that,

“The story’s portrayal of raw ambition and the extent one will go to achieve one’s goals is riveting. I look forward to filming this in India this fall and also working along with Rajkummar Rao for the first time and the wonderful cast Ramin is putting together.”

The film will also feature debutante Adarsh Gourav.

This is an exciting collaboration for Priyanka Chopra also. Here’s what she had to say,

“I’m very excited to work with Ramin Bahrani and Netflix to bring Aravind Adiga’s poignant story to cinematic life. I was fascinated with the story when I read the book. The portrayal of raw ambition and the extent one will go to to achieve one’s goals is something that is commendable.
