DNA India quoted veteran actor Dharmendra being open to the idea of a remake by saying,

“Chupke Chupke was the Sholay of comedy. With an intelligent writer, for sure. But it would be a challenge because so many people, young and old, have seen the original and loved it. So, it will have to be just as matchless.”

According to News18, Rajkummar Rao confirmed that he’d be starring in the remake as Professor Parimal Tripathi, the Botany professor who pretends to be a driver named Pyare Mohan Allahabadi to fool his wife’s brother-in-law.

The Judgementall Hai Kya star remarked, “It’s a big responsibility to step into his shoes. The scripting is underway now. We know that we can’t match Hrishida’s (Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Director) standard, but we will try to put our best foot forward.”
