#SOUTHAFRICA: Finance Minister Tito Mboweni’s Mid Term Budget Policy Statement this Wednesday is going to be a negative one that will hurt the taxpayer.

That’s according to Economist at Efficient Group – Dawie Roodt. Speaking to Newsbreak, Roodt predicted government revenue to be significantly lower than expected. The minister has an immediate task to restore calm and address urgent issues on an economy which has just recovered from recession in the first quarter of 2019.

Roodt expects news about the bailouts of some state owned entities, especially Eskom to be high on the agenda for the minister.
