Telugu comedian Venu Madhav passes away at 39

#TOLLYWOOD: Popular Telugu actor and comedian Venu Madhav breathed his last on Wednesday, 25 September due to multiple health issues. The 39-year-old had been admitted to Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad on Tuesday evening where he was put on life support.

He had reportedly recently been discharged after being hospitalised for two weeks and had been advised to undergo a liver transplant. The News Minute reports that the actor had been suffering from liver cirrhosis, diabetes, high blood pressure, and kidney issues for which he was undergoing dialysis.

Born in Kodad in Suryapet district, Venu Madhav made his acting debut in Sampradayam in 1996. He was a skilled mimicry artist and found fame as a comedian with notable performances in films such as Master, Suswagatham, Tholi Prema and Thamudu. He acted in over 170 movies over his two-decade-long career in Tollywood and has worked with Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi and Junior NTR. His ill health put a damper on his acting career and his last appearance on screen was in Dr Paramanandaiah’s Students Gang in 2016.

Prior to entering Tollywood, Venu Madhav was a telephone operator in the office of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and was reportedly on good terms with actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NT Rama Rao. He would actively participate in party activities and last year had expressed his interest in contesting Assembly elections.
