#KOLLYWOOD: The first look of Suriya’s next film, Soorarai Pottru is here. The actor shared the name of his character and the poster on his official Twitter account.
“Here’s Maara.. An ordinary man with an extraordinary dream! #SooraraiPottruFirstLook #AakaasamNeeHaddhuRa #SudhaKongara @gvprakash @nikethbommi @Aparnabala2 @editorsuriya @jacki_art @rajsekarpandian @guneetm @SuperAalif @SakthiFilmFctry @gopiprasannaa @PoornimaRamasw1,” the caption read.
Suriya has introduced his character as Maara. Looking dapper with a clean haircut, aviators and a beard, Suriya’s character is seen leaping to the sky with his arms outstretched in the poster.
Helmed by director Sudha Kongara, Soorarai Pottru will have actor Aparna Balamurali playing the female lead alongside Suriya. The film is said to be based on the life of Air Deccan founder Captain GR Gopinath. Jackie Shroff, Karunas, Paresh Rawal and Mohan Babu will also be seen in pivotal roles.
The technical crew consists of Satish Surya for editing, Poornima Ramasamy for costumes and Jacki for production design. Niketh Bommireddy is cranking the camera for the film.
Music director and actor GV Prakash will be composing the music for the film. The project is going to be bankrolled by Suriya’s banner, 2D Entertainment and Rajsekar Karpoorasundarapandian, in association with Guneet Monga of Sikhya Entertainment.
Despite the hype, Suriya’s last two films, Selvaraghavan’s NGK and KV Anand’s Kaappaan, did not fare well at the box-office. There have been reports that Kaithi director Lokesh Kanagaraj is likely to team up with the actor once the shooting of the Sudha Kongara-directorial is complete. Lokesh Kanagaraj, on the other hand, is currently busy shooting Thalapathy 64, starring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathy, in the lead roles.
