Bhai’s Cafe Now In Cinemas

ENTERTAINMENT: Bhai’s Cafe is a South Africa-meets-Bollywood rom-com that is now currently on circuit at select South African cinemas.

Set in the beautiful city of Cape Town, Bhai’s Cafe has always brought a big-fat dash of Bollywood into the district of Wynberg. The cafe has remained a cornerstone of the community comes which comes under threat from a ruthless property developer played by the suave South African actor, Siv Ngesi.

As fate has it, Bhai’s daughter is swept off her feet by the property magnate’s son, setting up a battle of epic comic proportions as Bhai rallies the community to save the Cafe, the neighbourhood and stop the blossoming love affair.

Audiences can expect nothing less than a full on Bollywood affair as Patrick (Siv Ngesi) swoons his love interest. Rashmi played by South African actress and model, Suraya Rose Santos delivers a sterling performance. Mehboob Bawa (a 30-year veteran of film, television and radio) and Rehane Abrahams (currently in the Kyknet&Kie telenovela Arendsvlei) play Rashmi’s parents.

Bhai’s Cafe focuses on “family, urban gentrification and romance with a Bollywood touch” and was filmed entirely on location in Cape Town. The 99-minute film is packed with drama, romance and a good dose of humour.
