Saudi Arabia Suspends Entry Amidst Coronavirus Outbreak

SABC NEWS: Saudi Arabia has temporarily suspended entry to the country amidst fears of the coronavirus spreading.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry said it suspended entry into the country for those seeking to make pilgrimages to Mecca and Medina and was halting entry for all people travelling from countries where there have been confirmed coronavirus outbreaks.

Secretary-General of The South African Hajj & Umrah Council (SAHUC), Moaaz Casoo, says the main obligatory pilgrimage – or Hajj – will go ahead unless an official communication from the Saudi Ministry states otherwise.
