Recently, hairdressers in China found an innovative solution to protect themselves amid the coronavirus outbreak. The barbers used tools attached to the end of long sticks to style their client’s hair in order to avoid physical contact with them.

He Bing, a 30-year-old hairstylist, captured the footage of his co-workers providing the “long-distance haircuts” in the southern city of Luzhou in Sichuan province, reports the New York Post. In the clip, the hairdressers can be seen wearing protective masks while using poles with brushes, shavers, and hairdryers attached to them.

Salon owners are reportedly using the poles to make customers feel safer. The Chinese health officials have advised citizens to keep a minimum distance of 1.5 metres (4.92 feet) away from one another in public.
