NEWS: The partially burnt body found in bushes near Cosmo City, north-west of Johannesburg on Sunday has been identified as Muhammad Nagdee. Authorities had to run DNA tests to positively identify the missing Johannesburg TV producer and director, Nagdee.
Speaking to Radio Islam last week, family member Fatima Chotia said authorities were to confirm if Nagdee’s wife Ziona was to be charged in relation to the disappearance. Two other people were arrested at a guesthouse after they were found in possession of illegal firearms and Nagdee’s bank cards.
Nagdee (38) was reported missing on 24 February after he did not show up to work. Anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee, says DNA tests positively identified Nagdee. He says three people including Nagdee’s ex-wife have been charged for his murder.
“There’s a lot of speculation going around. The wife was arrested. Currently we don’t have any evidence or any information to whether she hired thugs or anything to that regard.”
The trio appeared in court last week where bail was denied and the case postponed. Chotia said the family including his two children are distraught as they are no closer to finding Nagdee or what happened to him.
