NEWS: The Indian television serial ‘Ramayan’ has broken world records to become the world’s most-watched show. In a report by News18, 7.7 crore viewers watched ‘Ramayan’ on April 16th, breaking records set by ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory’!

“Rebroadcast of #Ramayana on #Doordarshan smashes viewership records worldwide, the show becomes most-watched entertainment show in the world with 7.7 crore (77 million) viewers on 16th of April,” tweeted DD India.
The finale episode of ‘Game of Thrones’ had 19.3 million viewers, setting an all-time high. ‘The Big Bang Theory’ emotional finale, on the other hand, had a total of 18.5 million viewers.

Made by Ramanand Sagar, Ramayan’s 78 episodes are based on Valmiki’s Ramayana and Tulsidas’ Ramcharitmanas. The show concluded on April 18 and has now been replaced by ‘Uttar Ramayan’ narrating the story of Luv and Kush, Ram-Sita’s twin sons.
The show brings back a ton of childhood memories. I’m sure no matter how many times we watch it, it will still remain a fresh watch!
