NEWS: The mother accused of burying a baby foetus in a shallow grave at Ladysmith, north-west of Durban, has appeared at the Ladysmith Magistrates court – together with a co-accused. This is according to KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala. The duo, aged 24 and 41, were arrested over the weekend and appeared in court yesterday – this follows the discovery of the foetus last week.

Meanwhile, KwaZulu-Natal Childline Operations Manager, Adeshni Naicker, says the act of dumping a foetus is alarming and could possibly be attributed to mothers feeling overwhelmed by the financial responsibility of having a child.
