SABC NEWS: Hundreds of patients from the R.K.Khan Hospital in Durban have been left stranded after the hospital suspended the dispensation of all chronic medication at designated venues including community halls and mosques in the Chatsworth area. Previously, patients collected medication at pick up points close to their homes. From the start of the lockdown period, this has stopped as volunteers and hospital management could not risk the spread of COVID-19. This now means that patients and the elderly can only pick up medication at the hospital itself.
Chairman of the hospital’s board, Reverend Cyril Pillay – explains how patients should protect themselves against COVID-19 when visiting the facility.
