Learners Ready For School While Parents Remain Concerned

SABC NEWS: Mixed reactions as parents are against the opening of schools but students are eager to return to school amid lockdown in South Africa. Not knowing first-hand the full impact of the coronavirus and its potential effects has left many parents undecided on whether or not to send their children back to school. This follows the announcement made by Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga that Grade’s 7 and 12’s will only return on the 8th of June.

Meanwhile, some Grade 7 learners say they are pumped and ready to go back to school next week and Grade 12 learners say they are eager to complete their matric year.
