NEWS: Actor Sonu Sood was one of the first celebrities to assist migrant workers travelling home on foot. He sorted out permissions, arranged buses, and provided them with meal kits for the journey. Subsequently, chef Vikas Khanna did his bit by distributing food, Sonakshi Sinha auctioned her paintings to raise money for relief work and Rajinikanth donated to the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI).

Zee News quoted Sabir Sayed, Mahim Dargah’s IT-Director saying,
“It was the brainchild of Bachchan sahab, who has been deeply concerned by the sufferings of the migrants since the lockdown. He made a proposal and the Haji Ali Dargah and Mahim Dargah responded by offering to make all the arrangements.”
The buses started their journey yesterday. Mahim Dargah Trustee (Dr) Mudassar Lambe confirmed that clearances were taken, medical checks performed and footwear was provided to passengers. He added,
